We are delighted to invite submissions of fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, translation, and memoir to the 2022 issue of The Ogham Stone. Please adhere to the below submission guidelines.

NOTE: We apologise for any technical issues which may have prevented submission previously, which have now been rectified. If you encounter any problems whilst submitting please reach out and let us know. Please also note that any submissions received before October 1st are valid and have been received with thanks.


Each individual may submit up to 2 pieces of prose or 3 poems
• A prose piece (fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir) must not exceed 2,500 words in length
• Poetry should be submitted in the format in which you wish it to appear on the page
Individual poems must not exceed 50 lines


• Submissions should be attached to an email as a Microsoft Word file set in Times New
Roman, 12 point, 1.5 spacing. The file name should be your surname and initial(s) (e.g.
Smith J).
• To allow for a blind reading of work submitted, work submitted for consideration should
contain no identifying information, e.g. name, student number or address.
• Please submit work separately for each category: one email containing a poem or poems,
another for any prose submission.
• Please attach one file only per category (e.g. all poems submitted should be in one file)
• Please indicate in the subject line of the email what category your submission falls into:
poetry or prose. If your submission is prose, please also indicate if it is fiction, creative non-
fiction or memoir).
• Please include a 150-word biography in the body of the email, along with a contact email
address. Please also indicate clearly the author name to be used in any publication.


• We cannot accept work that has been previously published (including personal blogs) and
prefer not to receive work currently being reviewed elsewhere.
• We cannot enter into correspondence with individual authors.
• Work received after the deadline has passed will not be considered.
• If you wish to withdraw a submission for any reason, please notify us by email before the

• The Ogham Stone cannot offer monetary payment to authors and artists who are accepted
for publication. All published authors and artists will receive a copy of the journal.
