50 Words Competition

To celebrate 50 years of The University of Limerick, the 2022 edition of The Ogham Stone will be running a 50 word anything competition. You can enter poetry, verse, stories, prose, monologue, dialogue or any literary form you want as long as it is 50 words.

Technicalities

Entries must be 50 words to qualify for entry.

Titles are not included in the word count.

Hyphenated words count as one word but no untoward hyphenation please.

Up to 3 entries are allowed per person.

Current staff members of the Ogham Stone may not enter.

How to Enter

Please email your entry as a Microsoft Word file to 50years50words@gmail.com

Your submission should be in Times New Roman, size 12 with 1.5 spacing.

The subject line should read 50years50words Competition.

Leave your name and a short biography in the body of your email but leave no identifying information on your entry.

Entries will be accepted until 5pm on Sunday the 5th of December.

Winners

The top three winning entries will appear in the 2022 edition of The Ogham Stone.

Each winner will also receive a gift voucher to the value of €50, kindly donated by O’Mahony’s Bookstore, Limerick.
